Case Workers – Adult Protective Services / Annual Salary $48,000

Position Summary

Responsible for determining eligibility and providing protective services to APS eligible adults. Responsible for assessing eligibility, developing protective service plans, coordinating service plan implementation and coordinating services for each case assigned to them. Develop partnerships with eligible adults to establish goals, find appropriate supports and live safely in the community.

Essential Functions

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Begin eligibility investigations upon receipt of referrals.
  • Develop person-centered service plans for eligible adults to build a community-based support network, including community resources such as home health care, mental health treatment, primary medical care, employment and day programs.
  • Maintain contact with all related treatment providers to insure integrated care.
  • Conduct monthly client visits.
  • Facilitate skill development.
  • Monitor the implementation of service plans, evaluate progress and revise service plans.
  • Visit institutionalized clients when needed.
  • Providing crisis management when required.
  • Provide off-hour coverage on a rotating basis.

Experience/Education/Skills/Abilities

Bachelor’s level degree in gerontology, social work, psychology, sociology or a related social service area. 

Three years’ experience working with the elderly, individuals with mental illness or resistant clients.

Salary : $42,500 annually

Position Summary 

Functions as part of a team overseeing TSINY’s facilities development, capital projects activities, property and facilities management and operations and tenant relations. 

Essential Functions 

To assist the Project Director in Housing Development and Property Management: 

  • Coordinate activities for new properties under contract, purchased by TSINY, such as identifying all utility equipment including but not limited to electrical and gas meters, boiler, backflow preventer, sprinkler equipment, etc.
  • Coordinate activities for new properties after purchase, including but not limited to, transfer of keys from prior owner to TSINY, locksmiths, providing access to utilities, government department, hazardous materials testing, soil testing and borings, securing property, etc. 
  • Opening new utility accounts or transferring existing utilities into TSINY’s name along with other vendor and supplier accounts as needed.
  • Meet with vendors, utility workers and others at properties as required.
  • Work with Project Director and Divisional Director to complete all required tasks to permit a contractor to obtain a demolition permit.
  • Coordinate completion of punch list items and any other unfinished work by general contractor before occupancy, during initial occupancy or when the rehabilitation construction of an occupied building is almost complete.
  • Coordinate vendors, if needed, post-Temporary Certificate of Occupancy, post-Certificate of Occupancy or after Substantial Completion make repairs or improve physical conditions.
  • During construction perform such tasks as assigned by Project Director.

Position Summary

Responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. Responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss and waste.

TSINY, a non-profit mental health services agency seeks Full-Time Cook Counselor for one of its Residential Programs, located in Queens Village (Queens), NY.

Cook Counselor – $22 Per Hour, Full-Time

Applicants must have Clean Driving Record.

Position Summary

Responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. Responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss and waste.

Essential Functions

  • Follow daily schedule as posted or assigned.
  • Report any pertinent information regarding residents and facility to supervisor throughout your shift.
  • Check to see that all appliances are working properly.
  • See what meals have been planned for the day.
  • Prepare, cook and serve all meals during shift.
  • Check inventory.
  • Check with shift supervisor for any meals to be held for residents or off-site meals.
  • Clean all appliances after using.
  • Dispose of garbage.
  • Make sure dirty dishes and utensils are pre-washed and washed in dishwasher.
  • Store supplies, dishes and utensils away after use.
  • Follow all guidelines in accordance with New York State Department of Health Codes.
  • Store foods properly.
  • Thoroughly inspect kitchen and dining room for safety measures and sanitary conditions and report any damages or problems to Administration.
  • Be able to sit or stand as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • May require walking, primarily on a level surface, for short periods throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Be able to reach above shoulder heights, below the waist or lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation. Driver’s license required. 
  • During a declared disaster, assume and adhere to assigned Job Action role(s) consistent with Disaster Preparedness Plan.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Experience/Education/Skills/Abilities

High School diploma plus one year’s experience in commercial cooking preferred.

Employee must receive a certificate in Food Protection with six months from date of hire.

Cook/Counselor I: High School diploma plus one year’s experience in commercial cooking preferred.

Cook/Counselor II: Associate’s degree plus one year’s experience in commercial cooking preferred or High School diploma plus combined two years’ experience in commercial cooking or a mental health setting.

Cook/Counselor III: Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree plus a combined two years’ experience in commercial cooking or a mental health setting or High School diploma plus combined three years’ experience in commercial cooking or a mental health setting.

Position Summary

Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of fiscal responsibilities related to the execution and maintenance of City and State contracts, grants, financial reports and budgets.

Essential Functions

• Prepare monthly and quarterly invoices for NYC contracts.

• Management of grants and grant applications.

• Assist in the preparation of annual Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR).

• Validation, maintenance and organization of personnel action forms.

• Bi-weekly payroll analysis, including allocation verification.

• Research large variances in monthly Actual vs. Budget program P&Ls.

• Coordinate annual Agency Budget (utilizing budgeting software).

• Management and reconciliation of BHCC Health Home remittance details.

 General

• Assist Senior Fiscal Directors as requested.
